CH32 Kimberlite

CH-32 Kimberlite

*Information in this current blog is based on information obtained up to mid 2018 and should be considered legacy at this time and should no longer be relied upon.*

This kimberlite was discovered via core drilling in the summer of 2010 exploration program.
This is confirmed to be diamondiferous.

2 Core drillholes were drilled into this kimberlite. The first one for 113 metres and the second one for 333 metres.

Excerpt: (August 4th, 2010)

"The CH-29, CH-30 and CH-32 kimberlites were discovered by drilling magnetic geophysical anomalies with estimated surface expressions of 0.5 to 1.0 hectare. At each of the discoveries, two inclined holes were drilled across the kimberlite from the same setup. CH-29 is represented by a magnetic low anomaly, and CH-30 and CH-32 are associated with magnetic high anomalies. At CH-32, the first hole was drilled at an inclination of 45° and intersected magmatic kimberlite only. In the second hole at CH-32, drilled at an inclination of 65°, both magmatic and volcaniclastic kimberlite were intersected."

Caustic results: (Feb. 22, 2011)

In a 213.7 kg sample, this produced a total of 28 stones spread out on the bottom 4 sieves.

"The discovery of the CH-29 and CH-32 kimberlites was announced on August 4, 2010. At both of these discoveries, two inclined holes were drilled across the kimberlite. CH-29 is associated with a magnetic low anomaly and CH-32 a magnetic high anomaly, both having estimated surface expressions of 0.5 to 1.0 hectare."

This kimberlite does have the distinct phases (magmatic and volcaniclastic). This does put it in the complex geology field and more work will need to be done to determine just how complex it is and there is an opportunity for a higher grade section that was missed.

This will go through the DMS unit eventually, but at this point will not have any work completed on it. Probably a consideration once Chidliak is a fully operational mine.
