CH61 Kimberlite (HIGH POTENTIAL)

CH-61 Kimberlite

*Information in this current blog is based on information obtained up to mid 2018 and should be considered legacy at this time and should no longer be relied upon.*

This was discovered in the summer field season of 2012 by surface prospecting.

Discovery news release -- August 14 2012

Excerpt:

" CH-61, located approximately 20 kilometres southeast of the CH-7 kimberlite, is defined by a complex magnetic anomaly with an estimated surface expression of 2.4 hectares. The prospecting crew discovered kimberlite float and green clay soil containing limestone fragments coincident with the anomaly. CH-61 will be evaluated by drilling in a future program."

 From technical report:

"In 2013, a geophysical program was conducted at Chidliak by De Beers under an option agreement with Peregrine. All of the surveys were orientation surveys over known kimberlites. A 34.50 line-kilometres magnetic survey was completed on one grid over CH-1. Five grids comprising 37.62 line-kilometres of MaxMin electromagnetic surveys were completed over CH-2, the CH-6 area, CH-7, CH-45 and CH-46. Two grids of ground-penetrating radar surveys (“GPR”) comprising 14.68 line-kilometres were completed over CH-6 and CH-7. A total of 2,888 gravity measurements was collected on nine grids over CH-1, CH-6 and surrounding area, CH-7, CH-8, CH-12, CH-44, CH-45, CH-59 and CH-61."

This clearly has potential. The size being 2.4 hectares. De Beers did a full gravity survey around it to better define it and it was indicated that it would be drilled in a future program...so the kimberlite float could not have been that bad for them to plan future work on it and also De Beers decided to do a gravity survey on that one.

This was discovered a week before Peregrine Diamonds suspended the program due to lack of resources and before De Beers signed up with the option agreement.

Looks like this has fallen through the exploration cracks and now that Peregrine is focused on getting toward a PEA, it is still pushed aside.

This needs to be drilled once the core drill rig is finished with work on CH-6,7,44...which is not done yet and won't be done for quite a while.
